Glass

Industrial Solutions to Drive Growth and Create Products

We are passionate about glass production. This type of industry plays an important role not only in the domestic market, but also in the global market.

Glass is infinitely recyclable, it can be constantly reused without loss of quality or purity and ecology.

In today’s world, the glass industry develops more and more every year. New technologies are constantly being developed. By today’s standards, the glass industry is a profitable business and quite common. Companies produce wine glasses, tumblers, floor vases and more. In the ranking of industries, the glass industry takes pride of place because of its necessity.

This type of lighting industry is becoming an integral part of the production of other products such as products in architecture and construction, optics, lighting engineering, fiber optics, etc.

What types of glass are

Consumers are not only individuals, but also organizations engaged in the following activities.

FLOAT GLASS

At present, sheet glass is mainly produced using float technology, which involves melting glass in a vessel with molten tin. The result is high quality glass that is widely used in the construction and automotive industries. In particular, sheet iron, which is colorless or contains little iron, is used in the manufacture of solar panels that generate solar energy. In addition to limestone, up to 5% MgO, sourced from dolomite, is used in the manufacture of sheet iron. This component acts as a stabilizer, improves melting viscosity and increases resistance to mechanical and chemical influences. The lower calcination temperature of MgCO3 dolomite and the formation of low-melting processes also reduces energy costs.

TECHNICAL GLASS

Technical glass includes such products as glass for TV screens and computer monitors, glass for lighting devices (tubes and lamps), optical glass, glass containers for laboratories and technical needs, borosilicate and ceramic glass (dishes and high-temperature household appliances), and glass for the electronics industry (LCD panels). Along with glass-forming oxides (boron, aluminum, etc.), CaO and MgO additives play an important role in technical glass production.

GLASS FIBER INSULATION

For more than 60 years, glass wool, mineral wool and rock wool have been used as insulation materials to keep warm and protect against noise. Mineral wool consists of natural raw materials: quartz sand or basalt, also using environmentally friendly recycled glass. Mineral wool is the most convenient insulation material that is used in industry and construction. Glass and rock wool are made by blowing compressed air through a stream of molten glass or by twisting. The addition of limestone and dolomite products to the mixture makes it possible to adjust and strengthen the desired characteristics of the alloy and fibers. Depending on the composition, limestone and dolomite can act as fluxing or stabilizing additives.

TARGET GLASS

Tart glass is an essential ingredient in the production of food containers, bottles and containers for medicines and cosmetics. Gastight, inert and tasteless, container glass is the ideal material for the production of such containers. The various shapes and colors of the glass containers provide additional marketing advantages. Although large quantities of recycled glass are used in the manufacture of container glass, other natural materials are required in addition, all of which are of consistently high quality. In addition to using lime, a source of CaO, the use of 1.8-3.4% MgO (dolomite) proved useful in production: the addition of this component reduces crystallization and consumption of caustic soda and clarifiers. In the manufacture of heavy glass containers of complex shape, the use of MgO can improve the cooling properties.

CONTINUOUS FIBERGLASS

Textile fiberglass is mainly used in the production of reinforced fiberglass, an essential component in many industries, from the transport industry (automotive, aircraft and ship construction) to wind power plants, electronics and sports equipment. The production of E-glass and chemically resistant glass fibers (ECR) for continuous glass fibers requires the highest quality and purest raw materials: finely ground limestone and dolomite as well as hydrated and dolomitic lime. Calcined lime and dolomite, which are specially fired in the production of types E, C and ECR glass, considerably increase the performance and capacity of the glass melting furnaces. In all-electric furnaces sintered lime and sintered dolomite prevent the formation of CO2 in the insulating layers and the formation of hot breaks in the surface layer of the charge. Kaolin additives are also used in fiberglass production as a source of aluminum oxide.
